Microsoft Advertising has rolled out Facebook Import tool on Friday for advertisers to import their Facebook Ads campaigns, ad groups (ad sets), ads and images, budget, schedule, bids and strategy, location, and demographic (Age, Gender) targeting seamlessly.
Microsoft Advertising uses similar targeting options as Facebook Ads but some data like language and connections targets might be modified or skipped during import due to differences between both of them.
Microsoft Advertising is currently rolling out this feature to all advertisers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, and Germany.
This feature was first announced in April 2021 along with Video ads in Audience Network, Private search for Microsoft Bing API, Product experiences for SMBs, and several product updates.
How to use the ‘Import from Facebook Ads’ tool
If you are already using the Facebook Ads platform, you can import campaigns directly into Microsoft Advertising to run the same ads on Microsoft Audience Network.
Step 1: Select ‘Import from Facebook Ads’ tool
Within the Microsoft Advertising account, click on the ‘Import’ menu at the top of the page and then select ‘Import from Facebook Ads’.
Step 2: Sign in to Facebook
Select ‘Sign in to Facebook’ and follow prompts to provide Microsoft Advertising permission to import campaigns from your Facebook Ads account.
Step 3: Choose Facebook Ads account
Now choose the Facebook Ads account you want to import. You can import only one Facebook Ads account at a time.
Step 4: Select Facebook Ads campaigns to import
After selecting a Facebook Ads account, you will be asked to choose the campaigns you’d like to import. If you want to import all existing and new campaigns, select ‘Import all existing and new campaigns’ or select ‘Import specific campaigns’ to import specific campaigns in that account. You can import up to 10,000 campaigns for each account.
Step 5: Choose import options
In this step, you will need to choose the import option to select whether new items ‘Items not previously imported into Microsoft Advertising’, changes in already imported items ‘Updates to existing items’, or both should be imported. You can also customize bids and budgets for your imported campaigns.
Step 6: Schedule imports
Set up a pre-defined schedule to routinely sync from Facebook Ads. In this step, select whether you want to run import now, once at a later date and time, or on a recurring basis. Scheduling options include Auto, Once, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. Choose ‘Schedule’ or ‘Import’ to continue.
Step 7: Summary of imported Entities
After the import runs, you will have a summary of what entities were imported from Facebook Ads. To see your newly imported campaigns, select ‘View imported campaigns’. Your new campaigns will begin serving on Microsoft Audience Network after a brief editorial review.
